Where to access bpMRI for screening

It is highly unlikely that NICE will recommend, or the NHS will offer, bpMRI for screening until clear results are available from the TRANSFORM trial. However this trial will be recruiting subjects from autumn 2024. This will be via a invitation from GPs. When we know more about these invitations, we will update this page. In the meantime it might be worth contacting your GP practice and stating your interest in taking part in this (free) trial.

However private imaging centres are beginning to offer a bpMRI screening test for prostate cancer, the typical cost for the MR scan and report being £575.

These centres are listed below. When we have more information on reporting Radiologists at these centres this page will be updated.

Note: In our opinion it is highly unlikely that Private Health Insurers will cover the cost of this screening until the TRANSFORM study reports it finding some years from now.

However is there is a familial history of prostate cancer you may regard it as a good option.
